Teen Leaders Create PSAs
For the people in our community who are unaware of The Retreat and don’t realize how common abuse can be in relationships, The Retreat Teen Leaders created a series of original PSA messages to help build awareness.
The Teen Leaders, all high school students from local East End schools, worked together to develop messaging, write and re-write scripts, and time them to fit into tight 30-second packages.
In collaboration with Suzanne Wolfson, who volunteered her services to record and edit the spots at her East Hampton recording studio, Pierce Houghton, Nicole Rios, Remy Campbell, Maria Guichay, and Nicole Rios further some of the PSAs and recorded them.
We are thrilled that these student-written and recorded PSAs, including “You Never Know,” “Red Flags,” “Sabias?” (in Spanish) and “Love Asks,” will be shared with the public to help highlight National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. You can listen to the “Love Asks” recording here.
The Retreat invites you to join us in helping build awareness in the community. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about how you can get involved!
