The Retreat. Where domestic violence ends and hope begins.
It was hard enough to believe that I was a victim of domestic violence but when I had difficulty making a decision for fear of more violence I knew I needed help. I called the hotline number I had found in a local restaurant bathroom. The voice on the other end of the phone was soothing and listened to me. The next thing I knew I was not alone. The Retreat provided an advocate so I could get an order of protection in Family Court, and a counselor to help me stay strong while I was going through my personal real life nightmare. I cannot thank all of the wonderful people at the Retreat enough. They helped save me from a very dark future.
