meet the challenge

SHARP is a group program for men who are physically, verbally and/or emotionally abusive toward their partners. The group helps men take full responsibility for their abusive behavior while actively learning new strategies to deal with relationship issues.

The program consists of two 16-week group sessions. The first, a structured format, actively confronts and helps change the patterns of abuse. These sessions address the symptoms and patterns of domestic aggression in each participant’s relationships.

The purpose of the second 16-week group is to maintain nonviolence. Violence is an inherent part of our culture. If a man who has been violent is never to be violent again, on-going support is essential.

Through the aftercare support group, men can get support for being nonviolent and do not have to rely solely on their partners and family for support.
